Why we’re asking for donations
The Citadel works through public funding and donations. And since public funding has been reduced in recent years, we rely on your donations now more than ever.
For many, the Citadel is more than just a building. It’s family. And every family deserves a home – a safe, supportive place where young people feel like they belong.
We are asking for donations to keep our doors open and our community together.
Why donations are needed:
- To save youth clubs that give children and young people a lifeline.
- To protect a family-like community where no one feels left behind.
- To secure the Citadel’s future at a time when public funding is squeezed.

Legacy giving
For more than 45 years, the Citadel has been a safe, welcoming space where children, young people and families in Leith can grow, thrive and belong. It’s a place where people find joy in the journey. By leaving a gift in your will, you can make sure those journeys continue.
Every legacy, no matter the size, makes a difference. From helping us keep youth clubs running to providing safe spaces for families, your gift will ensure the Leith spirit carries on and continues to grow.
After you’ve looked after your family and those you love, please consider leaving a gift to the Citadel. Together, we can make sure this family remains strong for years to come.
Your legacy keeps them growing further.
